MP98’ “Liquid control rods” is a fully passive boron free system design to perform an adequate control of reactivity during all operational states on any light water reactors (LWR) including :

- Emergency Shutdown from full power to cold Shutdown, continuous nuclear power variation from 0 to 100% and 100% to 0.

- Long term reactivity control, without any poison in fuel within UO2 or PuO2 or spectral shift fuel.

- Short term reactivity control, if needed, to permanently adjust the power of the reactor.

- Long fuel burning cycle.

Neutron absorbers are pushed in the channels rods or flushed back in tanks by pressurized helium.
