Each fuel assembly comes complete with the neutron absorber inserted in neutron absorber channels in a solid state.

Fuel transportation is safer.
Storage pool and core pool are filled with demineralized water.
Wrong refueling is not dangerous.

Each fuel assembly is manufactured around
MP98'skeleton.

Fuel assemblies are more rigid and as channels are fixed, Fuel assembly buckling is no more a problem for emergency Shutdown.

MP98 is fully passive:
- Neutron absorber tanks and helium tanks with stored energy are inside the vessel.
- Leaks or undervoltage will operate a Shutdown.

MP98 is permanently under control and measurment :
- Neutron absorber channels operability is controlled permanently by helium circuit pressure measurment.

- Neutron flux, assembly temperature, neutron absorber level are followed.

Penetration in vessel or vessel head are suppress :
- Control rod ejection doesn't exist any more.
- CRDM leakages are impossible and MP98 system is a real solution to the crdm vibration and seism problems.
MP98 is a profitable solution in head vessel substitution.

Conduits are located in the Upper Internal N°1.
Outside connectors could be operate individually.
When outside vessel conduits leak, a fully passive shutdown operate.
